Yes I dozed off. I had been putting in some long hours. The hole in the windshield is from a board from the fence. It came the whole way through the cab and punched out my back window, it missed my neck by about 6". I received not a scratch. Yes I'm definitely blessed to be alive!

Got it apart last night. Its gonna take a new bumper, grill, head lights, headlight brackets, rad support, intercooler, radiator, A/C condenser, trans cooler, right fender, hood, and steering box shaft. Thankfully it didn't do any worse damage, the frame seems untouched.

you mowed down a telephone pole, and the frame is untouched? That's surprising.

Nothing obvious at least. We'll see if its as good as it looks when it gets realigned :thumb: I think I'll let it sit till spring though. There's other trucks to drive

Damn, glad to hear you are ok.... that's some scary chit!

I had a buddy pass away in HS because of falling asleep behind the wheel, after going to his funeral I vowed to myself to never let myself fall asleep behind the wheel... I've had to pull of the highway a few times and go run laps around the truck in 25*ish weather.

I fell asleep on the bike once and woke up fortunately still going down the highway. Thank God it stayed straight and it was a late night with no cars around. I don't think my eyes have ever truly shut since that night :roflmao:

Sorry to hear it! I should not have been driving, I was having those micro sleeps, were you suddenly wake up and you didn't know you were sleeping. I knew I was tiered, but you know how it is...you got so much to do and sleeping isn't exactly what you want to do while on the job!

Oh yeah I've done those laps too. Scary being so tired you actually start seeing things. Especially with 3 hours to go on dark rural roads. Rt8 from mass to ct for those in the area.

Very lucky. I know guys that have there trucks set to pull a little right just for this reason.

One thing that helps me when Im that tired is not using the cruise. Its better to just to pull over but sometimes ya cant stop or cant sleep once you do. So you got to try everything to stay awake.

Wow man that windshield is straight up final destination stuff right there :( Glad you're ok. I'm a firm believer in things happen for a reason but they're definitely hard to explain sometimes. I've been there before and have been lucky that it hasn't ended badly. I'm sure a lot of us have used up one or two mulligans on the road.
