NHRA Driveline Loops?

Do I need a drive line loop on both ends of my drive shaft or just the front? If I'm reading the rules correctly then I should only need it on the front of my shaft 6" from the centerline of the caps?

This is a 2wd truck with slicks on the rear and I dont intend to pull with it?

I ran a 13.2 this weekend and was asked to leave until i get it corrected.

Yes I searched for this but most if the info is from pullers?

Was your truck smoking alot? You don't need hoops until you get into the 10's and you could even argue that they are not needed becuase the transmission sits so far back the driveshaft would not contact the driver if it broke.

actually the NHRA rule is that any car running slicks regardless of ET needs one & it must be at the front no more than 6" behind the front u-joint ;)

Yes, the driveshaft loop needs to be mounted within 6 inches of the front U-joint centerline - think of it as a means to prevent a pole vault situation in case your U-joint fails, or the slip yokes comes completely out of the trans. It's also a good idea to have a taller loop in the rear in case the rear U-joint fails to prevent the drive shaft from whipping around and destroying a lot of your vehicle.

Did they change it? I know it used to be 13.99 and faster.
