I came across this truck and wanted to get some opinions as you know when men see something Twin Turbo'd they hoop all over it and might not stop to make a good sound decision. I am in need of you helping me do that please!! :D

here is the link to the truck. http://augusta.craigslist.org/cto/3890290459.html

I'm open to all advice or criticism.

Thank you.

That's a good deal if it hasn't been ragged out. Check for the obvious stuff like blow by, maintenance records, etc. It has close to 10k worth of upgrades already.

Me overall it looks good, BUT he has spent some money on the truck and is not willing to spend anymore. Do you ever plan to tow, he suggest change the torque converter how much will that cost.

Do you need Air Conditioning, if the compressor blew most AC pump suppliers will not warranty their pump unless you change all the related components, condenser, evaporator etc. The cost, well over a 1k. The head gaskets were changed, who changed them? His shop looks equipped and clean and a hunter no less, does that qualify him to do the job?

If you are mechanically inclined and have the resources to do the work the truck it could be a good deal, just remember the trucks that have been modified are like the strip girls down at the club, high maintenance.

If your skills and knowledge are limited regarding diesel trucks think about it.

Thats a steel but like said if you dont know much about working on the truck it could cost you paying others to work on.I have a 1058 and tow with it so im asuming he is saying that because it could possibly be needing a refresh which can be done at sSuncoast for 5 to 600 i believe i wouldnt switch convertors just refresh it.

I do know that the truck has been in the family since day one. Father passed it on to his son at 35k. I will ask for the records and check the obvious stuff. Thanks :thumb:

I'd go 4 it check 4 boost leaks

Will do!:D

:hello: and :welcome:

Seems like a good deal:thumb:

He was telling me that I can have a reflash of the transmission that would help with that torque converter and would make it a lot smoother when shifting. They are limited which is why i'm skeptical about getting involved with a TT truck but at the same time have a friend who's a master diesel mechanic. The truck would be just a weekend truck as I have a company vehicle. More or so looking for a fast toy since I just sold my street bike.

Thanks for the advice. I was told there was some type of software out that you can reflash the trans to make it shift smoother?!
