What's the scoop on the CAT filter adapter? Would it be wise to do this if installing a lift pump?

You can do what ever you like. I would rather have more/better filters, than be broke down at -40f or trashing CP3s and injectors prematurely...
I totally agree about good filtration, the cat setup Is the way to go with the 2 micron filter, it is good to have water separation though so you would have to do something there that the cat doesn't do. I'm just saying if you have any plans for tuning I recommend a lift pump. We need to know your plans and what you want to do in order to give you a direction. Running a $700+ fuel pump/filter setup isn't necessary for a stock motor. Much more economical to purchase a$250 lift pump and run the cat filter setup.

For now I'm staying stock. But a lift pump, cat filter and water separator are some thing I could use I think. Buying a boat this summer so I'm going to have some time to figure out what I want to do. It is my daily driver and I'll be towing my 27' enclosed trailer and my boat on the weekends.
I keep trying to emphasize this when guys just want to run the stock AD and FASS filters with an engine bay filter deleted. Tough to get people to understand how sensitive CR fuel systems are to contamination.
