New to the forum and to diesels. I'm looking to buy a boat this spring and needed something bigger than my 1500 to pull it. So I went out and bought a 2005 2500hd with the 6.6 turbo and 135k miles. After driving for 4 days and noticing I was losing antifreeze through the overflow tube. Long story short the truck needs head gaskets which lucky for me was found out before the 30 day warranty went up. The dealer is taking care of the repair.

My question is, how much life has everyone gotten from the truck after the new head gaskets are installed?

Welcome. Depends what you mean by "life" but the truck will probably run longer than you own it. I had gaskets replaced under factory warranty at 99k. Now at 150k. Keep ALL of the fluids changed when they should be and it should last a long time.
