After doing the Diamond Eye DP install (no comments please:mad:), i am considering this instead of crushing the stock turbo heat shield back in there.

A concern i have is will the snug fitting sock fit make the turbo stay hotter than it should? I was considering how the stock heat shield while protecting other parts from the heat, it still allows air to circulate around the turbo.

Anybody use this? Comments? Thanks guys.

EDIT: sorry but i dont know how to make the link right....

Forget the heat shield man don't worry about it... my 4094 didn't burn anything and neither has my S475.... stop over thinking this stuff man LOL

The blanket won't hurt the turbo. Some say it helps with spool up, keeps the heat in, more exhaust velocity. I'll try to get mine put on and give some feed back.

Mine made a noticable difference and levis blanket fit perfect!

One of the best guys I've ever delt with.

from what yall said (redbowtie and iceman) i may just get one. Didnt know it helped the turbo to perform plus i so dont want to screw with that heat shield. It didnt fair to well when i snatched it out anyway, its not exactly in stock form anymore, lol.

I'll just give levi a call.

I'm betting the S300 will be a better fit since the 4202 is not internally gated, depends on A/R and flange too though.

If there's ever doubt about what blanket will work best, just take the flange to flange measurement. With that, a blanket can be made that will fit right every time. Here's a crude pic of the measurement I'm talking about, but you get the idea. For reference, my S300 blanket is about 20 1/2" inches long.

Just thought i would comment on the turbo sock. I just put it on so i cant comment on the results but Levi was a great guy to deal with and i got it within just a couple days of ordering it. I will admit it was slightly aggrivating getting it on (atleast on the LMM...seems like everything sucks more with a freaking LMM) but was still not that bad, just tricky routeing the nearest tie under the turbo. It may have been a little easier if the ties were a few inches longer just to have the extra slack to run them through the sock but i got it on in about 30 minutes. I already had the heat shield out from the diamond eye install. The sock fits very well, just like in the pics on Levi's site. It also appears to be very well made. So as far as fitment and quality, i definately give it a thumbs up:thumb:

Thanks Rob! It can be a fight to get that front tie under the center cartridge sometimes. Seems like once it catches on something, it keeps getting caught. Sorry it took a little longer to get it installed, I'll talk to my stainless tie supplier and see what the next longer one is. Maybe going to the longer one will make installs that much easier. Interested to hear what you think of it's performance.
