Wish I had more room for quotes because that's sooo true and ....funny but true.

That's the ticket right there just don't let it switch into 5th gear in a high tune.

I believe the PPE 225 hp tuner is the standard tuner they sell. I ran the PPE hot plus 2 eliminator along with my edge hot juice, only using the edge for gauges that I had no problems with.Your trans is going to be your next quest for sure.
Stock injectors will be just fine for now when and if down the road you add a larger turbo worry about the sticks then and go up in percentage for what your needs are at the time.
Efi live is the way to go for sure and if you still want to run the Edge just for the gauges (oh btw don't ever think that you can bump the edge up just a little to run with what you have ....bad idea) make sure you disconnect it before making any adjustment with your ppe it can rob the tune rite out of it when you suck the tune out of it and then it will be useless to try and sell, ask me how I know lol.
I would for sure do the boost valve it will let the turbo put I believe 3 more psi into the motor IIRC and its pretty cheap. Also1 more thing on the trans, everytime you limp it it gets easiesr to limp the next time, so your going to have to exercise some control on it or your going to be doing it sooner then later and don't wait till it doesn't move anymore to do the trans it will be packed with clutches and planitarys and if not all is removed it will play hell with your built trans down the road with heat and contamination.

It's the sad truth lol

I also changed the 5th gear shift point to 150mph or whatever the efi limit is preventing the 4-5 shift at anything over 40% throttle input. Just as an added safety measure on the off chance I forget to hit the OD lock out.

Its weird, but I have yet to limp my trans. I used to have the PPE standard too and ran it on the 160hp tune, I know ppe tests their tunes at the crank but still. I now run my efilive in tune 5 quite frequently and i still havent limped it. The only thing ive noticed is at high speeds when I get on it, it will cause the torque converter to do a little shake.

Your running stock trans safe tuning I assume. My 150hp race tune was pushing it on the stock trans. It only limped once then ran many 1/4 mile passes and never did it again. Now it's built and I don't worry about it anymore :thumb:

I bought built trans tuning before I got a built trans, I thought I could handle the temptation  I had only installed a transgo jr kit into the valve body of the 6sp and added a deep pan

Iirc, my tuning went: stock, 90, 120, 160 and 230whp. I could run the 120 tune as hard as I wanted, the trans didn't like the 160 tune, it could limp it pretty easy, the 230 tune was an "OFF LIMITS" position, and for good reason, it killed my transmission in one run racing a BMW. Bastard had me all day in the #3 tune, so I switched to the #4 and held him and I thought, oh just this once, and I switched up into the #5 tune and walked away from the guy, and I was like all happy "n"stuff, feelin like I was the man, and my truck was the sh!t, then I looked down and saw my trans temps were about 260 and rising, then i got home and parked my truck for like 3 months, then I got a built trans;)

Too bad building these transmissions are so costly
