LBZ: new track times!

Well lowered the truck down on some fuel 22's and 285 nitto 420 S's. Must say I like this look and performance! New times on stock trans,fuel, and turbo are 13.4@98. My 60ft was a 1.8.... also a quick question, what can I do to cool my truck down a little(stock turbo)? Egt's or hot hot by the 1/4. Or what are y'all egts at ?

Also maybe a few more pointers on maybe getting it down lower? I know I need to air the tires down for sure but seems to hook great... and it was a 10psi launch.

I dont get how people get there trucks to run that good on stock trans. Granted you have a 6 speed, but still. Best i could muster out on my stock trans was a 14.1, and that included limp mode. It wasnt like an almost limp mode sort of thing either, she clicked 5th gear and bam, instant limp mode.

Lock out 5th, 4k+ on the limiter, big f***in tune , watch out for head gaskets


Worked for me. Stock trans, tune, lift pump, exhaust..... 13.3 @106mph....usually a 1.88 or higher 60ft. 4k rpm and banging the limiter the last 150 ft is hard on the truck, lost both head gaskets a couple weeks after those races.

I would think you (OP) should be running better my partner Chris's truck 06 lbz with tuning from Bob (Bo Bo) ran 13.0 with a stock trans,but i think those big heavy 22s are killing your 1/4 time IMO.

Just remember a lot of these guys race at low elevation.....the thin air @ altitude is ALWAYS a disadvantage.

I ran a 13.56@100mph with my old 06 lly ec/sb with a edge Evo race, transgo jr shift kit and no liftpump. Was only on a 100hp tune too! I loved that truck. Also lost head gaskets on it as soon as I tuned the truck with efilive and big tunes lol.

Track in Vegas is around 2000' ASL

Mine was at 1100 right after I left the line yesterday at 15-20 psi. ran the 1/4 in 23 sec.

Yea I have been battling this elevation since day one. I can't even get a 12.9 how my truck sits right now. Best I can do is a 13.1@103. My big tune is 2950us. That's as big of a tune they will make me. Not sure if I need new tuning or what, there's no reason I shouldn't be able to cut a 12.99 in my opinion. Elevation here is 4500ft.

Yeah I have a feeling the 22's are killing it some. They are actually lighter than I thought they were going to be it does great out of the hole like I said. Was trying to get down a little lower 13.2 ish before trans... looking for 12.8 ish after trans and a big boy tune. Lol I'm only running a 150 tune right now...

try a set of pyo'swith 265s and i bet you can make 13.2

Could try a nos solinoid hooked to an oxy bottle with a line running into the air cleaner if elevation is killing you :rofl:

Well, built trans will be done this week or next... So I won't have any more stock trans runs. Still looking for high 12's though!

You'll get there for sure. I think a 12.9 is pretty easily achievable on a built Trans efi live and lift pumped truck that can hold adequate rail pressure down the track. My truck ran a [email protected] with a 1.80 60' could have done better I think but that made me happy enough.
