U guys can keep those brutes and can am junk! Can ams motors are strong but not strong enough, and there's front diff is just as bad as the brutes. I live in wisconsin and we ride hard year round, from water, mud, snow, sand and u couldn't pay me to own anything besides a polaris. Me and my friends found that out the hard way. I was a long time polaris fan, and switched when the can am came back out. Worst mistake I've made to date. I have now switched back. Along with 3 of my friends. And 2 wanting to but can't sell there crap. Ones a 06 brute and the other is a 800 can am. There's a reason polaris is number 1 in 4x4s. And its not hard to see in stock form. But if your modding them, anything can work with enough money.

I think you just put your foot in your mouth on this post. No one can claim number 1 in 4x4's unless you are refering to one specific area of expertise. They each have their pros and cons. For all out power and reliability in the mud riding/racing world that we play in here around Texas, Can-am is leading the pack by a long shot regardless of stock or modified. To each and their own!

Heck, I have 2 2003 Arctic Cat 300's and 1 2005 Arctic Cat 300 that will hands down run circles around anything else out their in reliability and mud riding. One has 32" silverbacks on crushlocks, one has 28" Outlaws, and the last one has 29.5" Outlaws. They are 13hp of pure freaking fury!!! I can assure you that I have embarassed lots of people with that little bike on 32's. You can ask Coker6303, it doesn't play games! I also have a 2008 Canam 800 with a mild built motor, I wouldn't trade it for anything unless it was another canam. I have run all the different brands and for what we do there is no comparison that Canam is the best choice.

I could go on for days on this one! LOL, dang... did I leave the Brute out of the picture? Those Brutes are cheap hp!!! Definately a blast to ride. But you won't catch me owning one unless Kawi does a lot of changes to the drivetrain, the same goes for the Arctic Cat Thundercat. The Tcat has gobs of power, but won't hold together to save it's life. I had one for about 2 months, it was fun for the whole 15min I got to ride it each time before it broke an axle or u-joint.

Russ, how did the XP do on the trails this weekend? I may have to come take it out next weekend when I am home! I have some 29.5's we can put on it for now till you figure out what combo you are going with.

Could go on for days here to. All machines have issues and same with trucks. Everyone likes what they like. Actually have a 300 to. Not at all bad for what it is. But not only do I or "us" up here ride our machines, I also use them. Can ams are not by any means a work machine. Strictly for fun. If your lookin for speed, its got it, but if u want both function and fun, no way. That front diff is a joke along with the rear suspension. Cv axles are not protected. Shit breaks easy. Got numbers of pics from my can am. Been on a 800 with a built motor, like I said anything can be nice with money. Load your 800 up with 4 guys on it and run some bluffs, then drag a deer out with 4 guys and see what happens. Super soft suspension. Or another hook a ice shack up let's say 8x10 with 6 inches of snow and see how u like the front diff. Guy last year bragged it up, told looks sweet but that's about it, he hooked it up and barely wiggled it. I pulled that thing all over the place, and his face was priceless. And u got the kawi spot on "CHEAP". We don't just play games on wheeler here, or bikes however u wanna call it. Been around the game for awhile to.

I treat my Brute like its a johnboat and use it for purely fun. If I needed a hunting or work rig I would buy and old honda foreman. The 800 rides and handles like a Buick Roadmaster.

I am not getting into a pissing contest here. Everyone has a different opinion on what works for them. I know what works for me and that is what I use.

On a lighter note, bring those bad polaris' down here and lets go for broke! LOL I will bring the underdog and let it do some work...:woott: And yes it has a motor. The motor, transmission and rear end are one unit in the rear. It's an old suzuki design.

Lol. Does look pretty cool. Would be a fun ride for sure. Weight has a lot to do with it. Hp hardly. Its cool man. I'm not tryin to start anything either. Both of us just like what we like. I just like arguing. Lol. Kinda like ford vs dodge or ford. Ya know what I mean. Its all fun and games. All I was sayin is hp is almost identical, along with ground clearance. But suspension travel goes to polaris, has a 1in more travel to start with. Towin capacities have also belonged to polaris for so long I can't count. Along with hauling. And then its actually true 4x4. No lockers to engage, no clutches or anything. Which helps in pulling, mudding, hill climbing whatever. Anyways I gotta find some pics and figure out how to post them. A lot of nice lookin rides, wish we had more of u guys up here. Would ride with u guys anytime.

It's all good, I think the best 4wd design is probably yamaha. They don't have near the problems everyone else does and has a true diff lock. Arctic has a gear diff lock but the spider gears are a weak point. Polaris uses rollers trapped inside a plastic cage that bind up when the speed between the front and the rear change independently. The plastic cage is the weak point there, but the new design uses a steel or alluminum cage and is much better. The canam front diff is strong, but lacks the diff lock feature. The newer style diffs have a high viscosity fluid in the viscolok and tighter clutch plates to offer a faster lock up but it still does not compare to true diff lock. LOL, I won't even talk about the Honda front diff or the Kawi goof.

I build all my snorkels from scratch. The radiator kits typically come from other suppliers, but we have built some at the shop. We have a killer radiator relocate we build for the RZR and Tyrex that uses a wide 2 core alluminum aftermarket radiator and mounts on the back of the roll cage. I have an ATV shop in Bryan, Tx and have seen more than my share of problems out of all the brands. I have also had the opportunity to fix a couple design problems on a few things. It's a lot of fun and I wouldn't trade it for anything!!!

Cool. Fore sure. Was lookin at the camo machine. That Snorkel kit looks clean. I like it. What's the lift on it? 6 or? And would love to play with theses things on a daily basis. I do landscaping, my own company and hunt, cars, wheelers, sleds on time off. Just need more time to actually ride. Working on stuff only is fun for awhile, riding them is way more fun.

Thats a 7" Gorilla lift, it's back down to stock height now but I don't have any pictures. The lift is fun to show off, but stock height is a blast on the trails. I used to ride just about every other weekend and hit all the events when I was only doing the business and going to school, but I recently took another job and now the ATV stuff had to slow way down.

Here are the same snorkels on a 2012 Canam XMR...

And the first RZR radiator relocate we did. This is not a factory cage though, so it would be slightly different on a factory RZR. Just remember, the first one is not always the prettiest! LOL Plus this thing gets beat hard.

Na, I don't build the lifts. There is way too much risk involved and I don't have the patience to set up a jig for mass production.

I have seen the orange lift under a black rhino lined canam, it looked pretty good. I am just not a fan of the rhino lined fenders. I have a buddy that does hydro transfering and he just did an XMR for us in yellow/black military tiger stripes. He also did a 3D grey/black skull pattern on the RZR with the relocate in that picture. It turned out pretty cool. I like to be different, so anything that stands out is right up my alley!

No pics of the hydro graphics. I might snag a couple when I get to the shop thursday. Not sure what we are going to come up with for the 900. We might have to dip it in some hot pink bow ties. HAHA I am sure that would get everyone attention, heck Russ might even snag him a boy toy! :roflmao:

Pics of the graphics. I think $400-500 is a good estimate.

This is the pattern I think I am going to do. Either red base with black streaks or white base with red streaks
