LLY: New toy for truck

Picked a CTS insight up locally for a steal of a price, came with a expandable EGT probe too.

Saw 22psi of boost last night coming home, "merging" into traffic :angel:

IATs were staying within a few degrees of ambient at cruise control set speeds but came up pretty quick in stop and go.

There is a pretty big discrepancy between CTS ECT and gauge ECT, I know with my camaro the gauge sender and PCM temp sender are located separately, same with Dmax?

All in all, very fun little gadget to have. Now I can tow with the 90hp and not worry bout high EGTs, or just high EGTs in general.

I thought it read higher like 28-30 i could be wrong but thats one of the reasons i didnt buy one!

Depends on what tune your on.... But yeah for the most part baby stuff:baby:
I think the stock unit only reads up to 25 psi. On really hot tunes you will see upwards of 30+psi

your ppe tuner should be able to tax your turbo pretty good

I am only on a PPE 120 tune so thats nothing huge. For what it is, and what I got it for, I am very happy with it.

You got EGR in your sig, do you have an EGR blocker plate installed?

Yea its just a block off plate for now until I feel like dropping the coin on a full delete pipe.

OK just making sure, you cant build much boost without a blocker plate.

It will only read a certain psi due to where the edge gets info for boost from the map sensor. You can get a link to make it read actual boost if you have the expandable egr probe

Any one know off hand what kind of boost level I should see on a PPE 120 tune?

What your seeing is probably about right, I dont remember what I saw on the lower levels but on the PPE level 6 or 350 tune I saw 32 and on the 225 I think in the upper 20's.

Thats odd, I didn't think the sending unit could register over 25 or so for the electronic boost guages.

I think its +/- 4 in park, but the high one,thats no good right...?

Ive seen 31 psi on my 150 tune on my CTS. Use to see 35 on level 5 on my Edge Evo Race. But that was smokey and high EGT's. Now Im smoke free. :thumb:

I also got a license plate rear view camera for $20 off ebay to hook up to it too.

in drive they should be under 6 with the engine up to operating temp
