Hello everyone!

My name is Ben I was born and raised in the rocky mountains of utah, currently live in tabiona. It's a small farm town and its great. I have been looking to buy a duramax for quite a while. My father in law has a 2006 and its such a great truck. so I have been doing research on trucks for about a month now and would like the purchase soon. My question is weather the truck im looking at is a good deal or not. there are 2 i have considered. please let me know what you think. Hopefully the links work that i post below.

Also something else i thought i should note is that i dont want an LLY or a LB7 due to the injector issues and overheating issues. i could get one much cheaper than these 2 from the same classifieds but i don't want to worry about those things while towing farm equipment, hay, etc.

Thanks in advance for any info and thoughts!!!!!

Glad to be here,

Ben :D

Hey welcome to the forum. I would try to get a lower price on the 06 since it is vin coded for a lly. If you left the vehicle stock you would be only 330 hp at the crank vs the lbz at 360. I would use that as a bargaining chip to get a better deal and possibly confuse the poor salesmen.

Ya that is true i forgot about the vin # thing. Hummm so does that mean its still just an LLY? also is the 2007 a bad deal at that price?

The 06 looks to be an LS, so while having less miles, also has less options. The 07 looks to be an LT, and the "nice wheels" are simply black-powder coated PY0s. The extra 20,000 miles wouldnt be a deal breaker, though.
I would take the two VINs to your local dealer and ask them to run a service history on both. That way you can compare how they were taken care of, if one of them may have been a "problem child", etc. Then go from there. Good luck to you.

I think the 06 "lly" is rated at 310 at the crank, 605 tq
