Yeah, being up here is a real problem for shipping. I'm just guessing, but by the time I shipped your unit, it would come real close to costing the same as buying one dropped shipped to Seattle with free shipping. From Seattle on, it is all on me.

Pi$$es me off. Free Shipping....Folks in the continental US forget that we are a state too....We just get screwed on shipping.

Edit: maybe not, I just noticed that you are in Cali.

Your only 59hrs. 29min. and 3,278.44mi. away, just hop in the truck and take a road trip:eek:. Matt will even sell you the trailer it's on for $1k, right Matt;). Realisticly, shipping would probably be more then if you had a new unit shipped to you.

to answer my own question... upon searching the interwebs briefly, it appears like at least one company makes something like I'm talking about. Mohawk is the company. They make forked/pronged adaptors for the arms that then go under the wheels (almost like a wrecker) and bam, you've got a 2-post lift that will load the suspension.

I just went out and compared my lift (direct pro9f) to the lifts here in terms of construction, material thickness, design elements, etc... Mind you, the direct pro 9F is rated at 9,000lbs. It is way more substantial than the rotary 10k lift studied, and just about as substantial as the bend-pak 10k lift studied.

Ill post the comparison pics in a little bit.

Thanks for the info Ben because of you I bought the pro9f today, I'm picking it up tomorrow. Pretty excited because I've never used a lift before.

Let us know how you like it. :thumb:

feel free to PM me if you need any tips/advice on installing it...I installed mine on a sunday afternoon with my dad helping. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be.

we used the front end loader on our tractor to move them into place. When you put the redheads into the concrete make sure they seat properly. I had to wiggle mine around/play with them a bit while tightening them to get them to "grab" correctly. Other than that its straightforward, especially since the instructions were actually written by someone who speaks english as a first language. It also comes with a bunch of other nice booklets, one of them lists the proper jacking/lifting points (with pictures) of practically every car out there from the early 1980's through 2008....

We just installed a 12,000 # Rotary twin post extra tall lift. It picks up our 3500 dump truck with an eight salt spreader and over at ton of salt. Also had a Boss power V plow on the front. It will pick up the crew cab Isuzu box truck.A 10,000 Is probably plenty if you don't work on anything bigger than a dually

Thanks I'll most likely take you up on that PM offer. I'm glad you told me about the instructions being really good because I really don't know anything about a lift. I'll let you know how it goes.:thumb:

Like what my father in law wants  I think it's a bend pac at our service center. It makes me nervous because when you have to get rough with something the post visibly twist and creak
Is what Pat mentioned (creep) when the vehicle works off the pads ??

Used ours today. It's a 'Magnum Lift' by Bend pak. Model XL-9 (9k lb). You have to be good to load it in the right spot to make it feel good n' safe.
