Sold the old place, living in the toyhauler for a while. Basement for the new house is in, waiting on the framer.

I did the piers and brackets for the new shop. Hiring an Amish crew to build it. They got started yesterday. The Amish crew I hired had never built on piers and brackets before. At the end of the day he told me "I really like those brackets, I took a picture of those and set it to my next client." Who'd have thought, the Amish taking pictures and texting them.

Nice! Some one of these days we should get together and have a beer or two.

Thanks Tom and yes we need to, absolutely.

we are in the process of buying a new place. Pole barn is already on schedule to be built as well.

current plans are 40x60 with 14’ walls and 12’ doors. Debating hard on 16’ walls and 14’ doors.

was hoping to go out to 40x64 and 16’ walls but we will see.

I started out at 40x60, then said I was going 40x80, ultimately settled on 40x72.

Overhead doors are 14'x14', only (2) on opposing end walls. Set up for a drive through senario.

Side wall height was always 16'. Plan is to have a finished room inside, with storage above. Very tough to do with anything shorter than 16'.

go the 16ft walls and 14ft doors. any fifthwheel or large motorhome is over 12ft high and wont fit through the 12ft door. you may not need it but its a good selling point down the road

Amy updates?

Guess I lost track of this thread. It's been a process. As stated above we did a new house and shop at the same time. House took priority. I suffered a couple accidents was laid up for nearly 11 months. So we just keep plugging away at it. We house wrapped before exterior metal.1733506980274.png1733507000047.png1733507017484.png
