I read something in article Randy Cole posted on facebook from the NHRDA website the other day that mentioned new rules for pro street that have been approved recently. I asked about them there but couldn't get an answer from anyone. Does anyone know anything about new safety rules that allow sub 8.5 certifications at race weight? I did a quick google search that turned up a thread on CompD, but it looked like it was more discussing the talks with SFI and NHRA about what rules might need to allow.

I haven't heard that the committee had actually approved/implemented the new rules yet but word on the street was 7.99et, 5000lbs, 25.5spec expandable.
Maybe Russ knows or can check with his guys at Dow Bros. I know they were involved in it as were a few others over at CompD.
