That sounds ridiculous! About like dmitris truck on the dyno! What happened to your trans?

My trans crapped the bed with the built motor in front of it. built 40K and 5+ years ago, so it was time. I knew something was up when it quit shifting 3 to 4 smoothly. all good now. needed a higher stall anyway.

So this may be a dumb question but I gues I don't really know the answer.. What makes some turbos whistle loud and others not so much? I thought it was how many blades the wheel had but maybe not..
I thought my new turbo had fewer blades then stocker and it definitely has a lot more sound then it did.. But your turbo here has 11 and is crazy loud so what's the difference?

This turbo is a 6 blade.

The way the shroud and inlet has been modified on the compressor cover (to shorten it up a bunch) definitely contributes to the sound output.

I highly doubt that milling the inlet down 3/4" made it that much louder. Nothing else was touched other than where a boot would clamp to.

 Exactly, because you're an expert on the meaning of the volume of that cavity and the acoustics that are present there based on the blade pass frequency.
