Doesn't smoke at idle at all. It will haze a little going down the road. And some times it will puff a little white.

The truck also has a weird start issue too. Cold start it sounds like only 2 or 3 cylinders are running then slowly runs on all 8. Guessing that could be the nozzles also? Where is a good place to send them to be tested?

Mine did this when it was cold, 3 glowplugs were bad so I changed them but it didnt help hardly at all. My shot stock injectors and wore out motor didnt even do it. I'd send em out to get checked.

Have you modifyed the pilot pulse width for the bigger nozzles? You could be injecting enough fuel on the pilot pulse because of the bigger nozzles that it is actually firing on it. I tuned a truck with a set of 45 over II, and other than a puff of grey on startup it is almost as quiet as stock in all regards(even on the bigger tunes) running down teh road, and as quiet or quieter at idle.

I modified the pilot timing some and raised fuel pressure a little. And going to try that.

Fuel pressure is 13psi
