My wife wants to celebrate her midlife crisis with a new sporty car.

She has always liked Mustangs, and is leaning on me to get her one.

It must be automatic, red, and loaded.

I found a red V6 for right at invoice, less an additional $3k in rebates. Any thoughts on pricing in general, and the quality of these cars overall?

Her other current choices are a 2010 Camaro (more $$), and a Lexus RX350 (about twice what the Mustang costs).

Thanks

Get her what she wants Bud, keep her happy!

BTW the New camaro would be sweet, Even the new V6 outruns the Gt stangs.

I would go for the Camaro, but that's just cause I'm not really much of a Ford fan. I hear the Mustang is a nice driving/handling car. If you do get a Mustang, get a GT.

I like the GTs better too, but can't find an '09 (with the rebate) that is red and automatic.

Just read in last months Motor Trend Overall they say the GT has the best steering feel over the Camaro and Challenger. They also say it handles better than any live rear axle car This all probably due the the optional "Track Pack". Their price as tested is $34,330. Ohh and 15/23 MPG city/highway. I would say go for the GT at least. My opinion is bigger engine is better. My mom it debating on a V6 camaro and I am trying to push her towards the SS:D

Edit: That article I read was on the 2010, So it probably won't be the same for the 09

Be happy she isn't looking for a CTS-V like someone else wife is
I just read a comparison between one of those and the BMW M5 that said it outperformed or was equal to the M5 in every test they did. I would love to have one. Would be a pretty BA family car.

I've heard the 2010's are much more refined than the first editions. I wouldnt mind finding an 05 or 06 for cheap. Heck, the V6's have more HP than my old 83 GT did.

Is a Solstice too small to consider? Those are some good looking and fun to drive cars and look great in red (as do diesel trucks;))
