New Iowa Guy

Hey guys, I'm new here and to diesels. Just bought my first one last feb which is an 05 2500 ext cab shortbox in black. Drove from Iowa to Texas to pick it up. Found out later it has a blown head gasket, so right now my buddy and I are in the process of fixing that and cleaning everything up. That and endless reading about these things. Everyday we find something new we 'should' be doing while its out (ceramic coating the hotside, egr delete, etc).

maybe want to shim the relief valve as well. its easy to do in the truck but way easier while the engine is on the floor :thumb:
