I put larger wheels and tires on the vehicle. To fit them, I had to turn the torsion bars and raise the front end to level. When I did that, it gave me a really rough ride because there was insufficient travel between the upper control arm and the bump stop. Also the stock shocks are shorter than the Bilsteins so they also limited travel up and down (again causing a rough ride).

Bilsteins are longer shocks and some like the ride better because they have a stiffer rebound than stock. You can read for days about this stuff on the DP. Some swear by the stuff, others hate it. It's all in the issues your having and the ride you're looking for.

As for the Upper a-arms - the cognito arms relocate the bump stop to regain the clearance b/w the UCA and the bump stop (reducing or eliminating) the rough ride issue.

The Pitman and Idler arms just wore out around 30K IIRC so I figured the braces certainly couldn't hurt.

Again - it's more personal preference and what you are doing with your truck as to whether or not this is for you.

Some have put them on and not been able to get it properly aligned - I fortunately didn't have that issue and my ride was much improved.

Hope that helps.

That's what I wanted to know. They are usefull. You had a problem and the parts fixed it. It just amaizes me sometimes how much money people will spend on parts that have a use but they install them because they look cool. It is there money and there truck but it makes me wounder why. Thank's

Not to mention my front shocks blew apart. I was on the way home and the front end started bouncing. I got out and pushed down on the front end and it just kept bouncing. Took the shocks off and they fell apart - leeking fluid everywhere - no better time for me to try the bilsteins.

From what I hear the stock torsion keys work most of the time. I am running stock keys with a few turns left (I might crank it up a little more when I get it realigned again). My brother had to put green keys on his truck. If you want to go racing just drop the torsion bars and you should be good for 4wd boosted launches (assuming you have tie-rod sleeves). :D

I've always used the stock keys. No problems here, but as they say, all trucks are different and you may need green keys. Won't really know if you can get the height you want from stock keys untill you try.

It can be lowered for racing - no problem.
