hello i am new to this site, i have a 2004.5 lly duramax diesel.
and i have a question right off the bat i am changing my number 2 injector is there a special tool i need. I am putting in a new injector, also is there a picture someone has of the injector puller i am also a machinest so i want to make on for my truck. thanks everyone

Welcome.

You probably won't need the injector puller tool. I was able to grab all of mine by the top and pull them out. If they were tight I just wiggled them and turned them back and forth and they came out. If they are still tight, keep the hold downs on them and use that to work them out with... You could even try using a screwdriver between the hold down and the little pad where the hold down presses. I've been advised to not really pry or force on the injectors any which way.

You will probably want a new O-ring and copper washer for it when it goes back in.

Just out of curiosity... why changing the number 2 injector? I'm just thinking of the harness rub on the alternator and the injector connection problems that effect #2 and #7 injectors. They can be fixed easily, save you the hassle of changing an injector if that was the problem too!
