I own a 2004 Duramax diesel and just blew my LB7 engine. I would like to know if I can upgrade the engine to a LBZ, but not sure if I need to change the transmission as well. Any help is appreciated guys.
I'm thinking of doing this myself; any suggestions?

would need trans I think as LBZ runs 6spd

Upgrade to a lly Much easier and cheaper. Scrap the lbz idea. There are trillions of threads on the lb7 to lly conversion here....use the search feature.
