Just checking out the site.. Got a 04 Duramax, just a ranch/ day to day truck. Has really been tested. Have had Bulls climb in the bed, struck by lighting while we was driving, and she still keeps going.
Well just wanted to say hello and see what this is all about.
Thanks,

Hey has anyone else had injector/ injector pump trouble?
Is there a way to test the pump? Thanks again.

Thanks,
Question, might not be right place for this but, here it goes.
Is there a way to test the injection pump to see if that is what's bad or if its the injectors?
Had a performance diesel place say it was injectors, dealer said it was pump!!! What do you all think? Engine light comes on blows white smoke, looses all power, idles roughs, runs rough!
When it looses power it has NO POWER at all! Have to shut it off and then it has enough power to get me off to the side of the road! Could it be dealer doesn't want to do warranty work on injectors? They said replace pump and if it still acts up they will dig deeper! What do you all think?
Thanks all in advance!

hey scott, :welcome7:

how many miles are on your truck? Do you know if its an LB7(early 04) or a LLY(late 04)?

im no expert and im sure others will chime in, but injection pumps are not as common as the injectors going bad. If your truck is a LB7 i would think its the injectors and ur dealer doesnt wanna cooperate.

I agree with it probably being injectors, especially if it is an LB7. As for what the dealer said, throwing parts at something is most definitely not the best way to fix something.

Thanks guys, I didn't expect such quick responses! It is a LB7 and it has 161,893 miles on it. The performance diesel guy said there was bad injectors and said to take it to dealer, that is when they said no its the pump! So I'm not real sure what step to take now! Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I would hate to spend 2600 to fix the pump and still have the same issues.
Thanks again for all the help,
Scott
