saw this on a guys race truck at the event last weekend...pretty sad to say the least. He was also trying to hold back 60psi using silicon boots and 4 worm clamps on each side, needless to say it blew off every time.

Looks like something Scott would do... :happy2:

only 60psi and was still blowing boots with 8 clamps on one boot??? hes got some issues lol

First of all, I admire him for his ingenuity Second of all, I hold back 55 psi with one clamp on each side of a silicone boot, his clamps must be made in China.

he didn't have any bead of any kind on the end of the piping. It was a smooth surface and the worm clamps just don't generate enough force.

Well I must say I've never heard of someone running without a rolled bead or something similar.

I've done that before on a hot pipe.
Middle of nowhere heading farther into the middle of nowhere and I blew a boot. Monster energy came in handy. Wrapped it around the hole clamped the crap out of it and carried on. Lasted 2 weeks till I got home and held 30psi. Not sure about 60 though.

Did it once on a buddies quad exhaust too that burned out a donut on the muffler pipe. Pilsner beer can on the side of the trail came in handy. Left it like that for a couple years lol!!
