I've read tons of build threads and all I see being done with cams is keyways. Do you guys not find any worn lobes on cams you are pulling at 150,000+ miles? Has anyone looked into a used camshaft enough to find out what the wear reveals after substantial use?

If it's all good and I won't have to spend that several hundred bucks when the day comes, great...but this has left me puzzled. In the world of gassers and built sbc setups for pocket change, I would never put a used cam in a build because of wear.

The rollers help keep the wear down. Parts are built to last in extreme conditions, this is why diesel last so long. This aloud us to make lots of power with relative few aftermarket parts.
