Have started collecting the parts to revive the Mistress an LBZ that broke a crank.
Starting with a new LML block fitted with SoCal billet mains and girdle, Carrillo rods and a Callies crank.
That's all I have so far. Next step in the plan is to finish out the rotating assembly with a set of Fingers coated cast ovals and choices to be made on balancer and flex plate.
I have a question about the LML block though. Right away I noticed I didn't see the typical leopard pattern in the cylinders, are they still induction hardened?

Yes they are as far as i know. Definitely a good build list grant. Glad to hear its on track to be back on the road. I had the heads off an lly the other week and it only had the leopard spots on 2 cylinders.

Thanks Nic I am pretty excited as well.
I almost forgot. To add to the list of have parts is an S483 that will be used as an atmospheric over the current Danville stg2 3794.
The rest of the short block I plan on finishing off with a SoCal 6480 AF cam. Plans are then to send my heads off to SoCal for them to work their magic with their CNC giving them their stg1 porting and rebuild. Hoping to fuel the new engine with a 12mm stroker cp3 and 100% over injectors.
That's the plan as long as these commie leftists don't bankrupt us all.

That's the plan. I hope to keep it fairly conservative on tuning as well so I'll be happy with 800+

TX of course
That’s a good solid built. I’ll be there one day I hope. I've had a 3794st2 and stroker on for a few years. Just did hg, studs, and 100overs. Id like to baby it and add a s483. Not sure I’ll make it since I need some billet parts in the trans and of course a built motor at some point. Just need the money and time.

My 1000 hp build to run at 8-900 would go like this...

ENGINE
$1,200 Stock Crank (Keyed)
$750 Wagler Billet Main Caps
$240 ARP Main Studs
$1,800 Socal Street Rods
$1650 Mahle Race Cast Pistons (Probably Coated +$300, but would need to look into this further before I decided)
$375 BD Flexplate
$100 Stock Cam (Keyed) I would run a low mileage used one
$700 Behive Valve Springs
$325 Chromoly Push Rods
$600 ARP Headstuds
$425 Wagler Pinned Oil Pump

I will need surely need to go back into my transmission as well. I built my own with a Suncoast kit and a few tips from Mike L. The build worked flawless at 600hp but I think I will have Mike go through it for this build.

Even though Nic gave conformation to the LML block still having induction hardened cylinders I am really wondering why I see no signs of in my new block. Anyone have any answers as to why???

Is it stock Bore? if so maybe someone ran a hone through it not knowing any better.

If it was bored, You definitely won't see it with fresh machine work like james said.

Because it doesn't sound as if the AF cams have done much if anything for crankshaft durability and I have been a Comp Cams fan from nearly their beginning. I made the decision to go with a Comp Cams new stg1 LST it saves a bit of cash as well.
Oops that should have said stg2 LST
