Made 494 hp on the first pull on the chassis dyno yesterday on a rich base tune but could not finish the run. At 6k RPM it decided to eat the built 6 spd. It shot the shifter up into the roof. He originally thought the clutch would go first as it was only rated at 800 and he was hoping to be pushing that limit on spray.

Next plan is a built 4l80.

Gotta love the LSx motors! Too bad for the whimpy 10 Bolt rears and 4l60E's ;) Surprised he's only running a 12 bolt. Most T56 cars run 9" or D60

This wouldn't have been at Cincy Speed by chance would it?

wow he blew up a 10blt only running 10?! i guess with that many passes it would but ive seen several run 10's with stock 10 bolt.

what block is he running the cast iron? i loved my 408 (and cant wait to get my new one up and running  ) just wondering why a 404? usually see just 402/403 or a 408 seems like a odd bore size. Go with a 80e and dont look back :thumb:

LS1's can blow up a 10 bolt in stock in a f-body! I blew up my 10 bolt and my stock 4l60e at the same time... with only Long tubes and off road y pipe!

He blew up a Moser 9" - a little different than the stock 10 bolt.;)

It was a fluke though. That axles should have been plenty strong for that build as well as this one. It hooked hard, let loose, and then rehooked harder and something gave.

what did you do drive it off a cliff? a good friend of mines 01 has gone though about 3 well now 4 fully built 4l60e's and hes still on stock 10 w/ a 408 although the 408 has 500 miles and puked out the 4l60 at about 100. Ive also seen alot of trucks go 10's and two go 9's with just gears and locker stock axles and housings

The T56 can deliver serious abuse, He wouldn't be the first to blow up a 9". I know there's quite a difference. It's all in the Driver.. I beat the bag out of mine and they both let go at the same time and I'm not the only one who has done it.

back in the day i was running a big shot on a stock bottom end '01 camaro. went 9.99@137 at the '03 thunder shootout on a 250 shot (NX maf kit). hitting all the juice off the line with a 400 w/brake and a 9". you can search ROB'S SS on ls1tech.com. i have video of the car just not loaded on youtube. finished runner-up in modified stock power adder. sweet sweet memories (which is all i have left lol). btw nice car:thumb:
