The word is he is going to be okay. Ok so heel on the rt is broke and left toes are broken. His tibia and fibula are compound fractures, tear in diaphragm and stomach pushed up. Sure he is in alot of pain, so continue to pray and hope for him.

the chest surgery to repair the tear in his diaphragm was successful everything organ wise looks good. He has a bruise on his lung but other than that everything looks good. No damage to kidney, liver, spleen, stomach esophagus or intestines. The ortho team for his leg surgery is about to go in. I will let you all know when I know more. He's looking good so far keep him in your thoughts/prayers!

I usually don't get into these gofundme deals, but he is going to be off work and out of the shop for quite sometime. He could use any little bit anyone can give. The guy would seriously bend over backwards to help anyone out, least I/we can do is give him a little help. Thanks

And a little update, was told the doctors don't want to do to much at one time, so they have moved him to the ICU but there are more surgeries to come. Was talk of possible piece/fragment of his spine that will need to be extracted.

I do not know Matt but regardless my thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. And all involved in the accident. Never a good situation to be in.

Saw this on FB this morning. Thoughts and prayers go out to Matt and his family. The gofundme is a great idea. There is no workcomp when you own your own business! Hope he has a quick recovery!

Any updates?

Not trying to take over Kyle's thread, but Matt called me a few minutes ago so I figured I'd answer this.

He sounds like himself, same old sense of humor, just sounds a little rougher and sounds like he gets tired talking. He said he's sore but the worst part so far was getting cut out of the truck.

They won't let him eat or drink anything because of his stomach and has a bunch of tubes in him. He said the spine doctor is coming today to check his spine issues out. Talking about trying to do another surgery tomorrow. After the surgery on his diaphragm yesterday they decided to hold off on more surgeries until they saw how he recovered.

Running list so far is: left eye socket, left shoulder, bruised lungs, they fixed the tear in his diaphragm and put his stomach back where it was supposed to be yesterday, he's got all kinds of shit broken (I'm an engineer not a doctor, but I heard fibula, tibula, heel, toes) in both legs, feet, heels, toes, etc that will require multiple surgeries and then splinters off his spine.

I consider Matt my brother and he's closer to me than one. He is genuinely one of the nicest guys in the world and would (and does) bend over backwards to help everyone. If you can, try to help him out at that go fund me link Kyle posted above. He works with his hands, so obviously with his injuries he is going to be out of the shop for quite a while and not able to make money. Plus he's got a little boy to take care of.

Thanks for the update. I have had only a hand full of phone calls and several conversations through texts back over the past 10 or 12 months. Every time he always answered any question I had and left me feeling like a friend instead of a number. Last text exchange i asked a question and we shot the breeze talking about his new drag truck and setup. I had intentions of texting him this past weekend asking if he had a chance to take it back to the track. I don't know him like most of you do but from what little I do know is he values others and helps in any way possible. My wife and myself will be making a donation this evening. As much as he helped me it would be the absolute least I could do. Please let him know we are all praying for a speedy recovery. Keep us updated.
