Need some input . . .

Just purchased 2009 Chevy Dmax 6.6 with Allison transmission. I am new on the scene with diesel's. What brand of oil and weight of oil does everyone prefer to run in their dmax.

Diesels seem to be all about fluids and filters. What are the critical items. Any / all suggestions would be appreciated. I am 61 and enjoy taking good care of things. This is a stock truck as far as I know.

That being said, just choose any 15w40 rated for a diesel.

Like PureHybrid said, any diesel oil that meets the ratings is fine. I run Delo 400 because it's usually cheap and why change now? But you won't go wrong with anything meeting the spec.

Same in my duramax. Regular Dino rotella in my 6.2

I run devlac in the 2.5 gallon jug and mobil 1 filter from Walmart.
