Need new tires

I need new tires and am looking at BF Goodrich Long Trail T/A
LT265/75R-16D1 120R. Anybody have any experience with these. I tow a 12000lb 5'er. Are these going to handle the weight. I don't want to go too big because I don't want to hurt the mileage. Any other tire I should look at? I have a 2006 2500 lbz crewcab longbox.

I would stick with an E load tire, especially with a 12K fiver...Size is fine.

First off is that even a correct size for that tire? did you mean 265/70-16, or 245/75-16?

The 265/70 is shorter than the 265/75, that's all.

It's all about the capacity of air in the tires. The bigger the tire the more weight it can safely support.

Decide on the height of the tire you want, and just order it in an E for the most weight capacity. The E rated tire also has stronger sidewalls that will help eliminate sway.

8 plies on a D & 10 on a E. Ive had D&E 285s, the Ds squatted alot more than the Es do.

It's all about the capacity of air in the tires. The bigger the tire the more weight it can safely support.

Thats why they used 265s on 3500 srw rather than 245s

At the same pressure? Because I have seen nothing of the sort on my truck. I had 285/70-17 E range Toyos, and I now have 285/70-17 D range Firestones. At the same pressure they look to have about the same amount of bulge to me, but then again, I never actually took a tape measure to either one.

At 65psi the Es were alittle stiffer, but the real difference comes in the extra air you can run in the Es 80psi instead of 65psi Ds.

I agree completely with the extra air, and I do think the Es rode just a tad bit stiffer than the Ds do. Still, I think a 265 D range would hold up just fine unless you're hauling a ridiculous amount of weight in the truck, but if you had to choose between the two, I would go with an E over a D. The only reason I didn't get Es this time is the tire I'm running didn't offer an E.

i have toyo 35x12.5x18 mt's on my truck hauling 1k lbs constant in the bed and with a race tune loaded 90% of the time and have 13K miles on them with 1/8 miles races. will prob get another 3-4K out of them ( only cuz i didn't rotate for a while or could have gotten another 5-7 out oif them)

i love the stiffness of the E rated tire. but next tire i get will have a prorated warrenty on them for sure!!!!! even though is really love my toyo mts and may even get them again
