I have an 06 LBZ 2500 Crew Cab LT. It is currently bone stock and im researching what mods are safe and effective for my desired outcome for the truck. Im looking for a nasty stance and insane takeoff speed. Id like to be able to hear the turbo scream when I step on her and Im hoping to roll a respectable amount of coal out of her. For stance im looking at deep dish Fuel Octane wheels and I would love to go as wide as 14s however I dnt really wanna lift the truck. If I do have to lift I do not want to go over 4in. Say ive got $10,000 to drop on the truck. What mods should I make? Ive heard EFI live a lot. Detailed feedback please. Need to have a stance that invokes fear in my opponents before we even stage up, and the takeoff speed to shove my butt back in the seat with shear force. Thanks for your time. Look forward to feedback. Sincerely,
The Rebel Child

First of all, you seem young, so let me correct you here. If you roll coal, you're a fag and will get made fun of.. A lot.. Also, if any tuner makes you a tune that will roll coal, their other tunes won't run worth a damn and won't "shove your butt back in the seat with shear force".

Now, get CLEAN, healthy, efficient tuning from people like Kory Willis, Rob Coddens, Tony Martino, Zach Fuller, etc.. Lift pump, built front end, pump rub kit, trans build. Don't smoke people out and your good.

Out and about
EFI tuning is around 5-600 depending on who you go with. Tuning makes or breaks the out come make sure you get someone who will work with you and has great reviews. As far as "rolling coal" a lot of users on here are against it. As far as mods go for performance and the amount you stated. I'd look into building the Trans, getting an intake, exhaust and tuning. As far as hearing the turbo the stock one only does so much.

Happy to see new Duramax enthusiasts but please wrap your head around clean tunes and no rolling coal.
One of the first but most expensive mod you will want to get out of the way is a built transmission. As good as the Allison is the Duramax can put down enough torque to bring it to its knees in stock form. After that EFI Live and work on moving air, exhaust and down pipe,Y-bidge hot and cold piping possibly inner cooler, manifolds and up pipes. At about 500 to 550 rwhp you should be thinking head studs after 600 start considering a built motor.
Petty generic build plan but there you go.

Think of it this way. "Rolling coal" catches attention but it makes it more of a sleeper when your not blowing the extra power out of the exhaust pipe.

For smoke, you could put a stack of old tires in your bed and set 'em on fire. Some trolls like to use this.....

Apologies accepted, just realise that there are a lot of tree huggers that would would love to put a stop to our hobby and rolling coal justifys their efforts. Now that you have had an awakening spread the word I enjoy this hobby and don't want to see it ruined by a few irresponsible assholes.
As far as the stance of your truck that is all up to you and what you want from your truck.
There is a lot of good knowledge to be gained form members here hang around you will learn a lot.

You would have to do at least a 6" if you want to run 14" wide wheels if you go with a lift spend the extra money and buy good brand like cognito as for go fast build the trans, intake, exhaust and good tune would make it run pretty good

To go that wide with tires you will need a 4" lift. I'd go with a CST, RCD or Fabtech. You could buy a set of green torsion keys and crank them up but your ride wont be as good. Also buy a set of Fabtech HD tierods and maybe a set of cognito center link braces. Spring clamps for the rear will also help your launch and a set of traction bars will help even more.
Next get a lift pump. PPE, AIRDOG 165 or a FASS 150 will work for you.
Shim your Fuel Pressure Relief Valve (FPRV). There is a DIY thread on this forum you can follow if you have the mechanical skills.
At the very least put a Transgo shift kit in your trans unless you can afford to build it which would be better.
Then for tuning I'd go with the one closest to you that can do behind the wheel custom tuning or one of the vendors on this site. You can purchase an autocal or buy EFILIVE outright if you chose.
These mods should bring you to your 10g budget and guaranteed to put you in the 12's or maybe even faster.
As said before this isn't a coal rolling friendly site. That's maybe better suited for those at the dmaxforum. If you want to go fast, that's what we do here!

When I was looking for a lifted and later on a lowered stance, I'd just google search images of your truck + whatever size of lift...then post up that pic and these guys will help you out on what your looking at:thumb:
