Hi I'm new here an having trouble with my 05 GMC Duramax. The serpentine belt keeps running off the harmonic balancer. I have changed all the idler pulleys, tensioner an am about to change the power steering pump. Does anyone now why this is happening? Thank you for your time

If you can grab the balancer and move it I have bad news for you.

How quickly does it come off? Maybe shoot a quick video of the motor running.

Exactly what I was thinking. Let's hope not. Too much of that going around.

I had alot of trouble keeping the belt on after i replaced my tensioner with an autozone brand tensioner. Switched to an OEM tensioner from the dealership and the problem went away. The tensioner from autozone was allowing the belt to jump off when i got in it real hard and the rpms jumped real high real quick.

I know it's really weird but everything is routed right I even bought a tentioner from the GMC dealer. the balancer is spinning smoothly. The only thing I can see an issue with is a little play in the power steering shaft. it moves in an out a bit but I'm not sure if it's enough to cause this. The pulley spins smooth too. The belt runs off center on the fan pulley tward the front even before it gets to the balancer
