Hi, I have a question i just got my trans built i supplied the builder with a SC1054 alto power pack with red eagle clutchs trans go shift kit was already installed and a trans go boost valve... put it back in did the relearn with the tech 2 put some miles on it to where it would quit flaring and started shifting normal. After all that i got my tuner to put a bigger tune in it with EFI live he also put a switch in it with a 60 horse tune after driving for a day or 2 on the big tune and running it hard a few times i switched it to the 60 horse tune. Well when i went back to the big tune and went to run it it limped going from 3-4 and now does it everytime on the big tune when WOT only. Nobody seems to be able to give me a straight answer as in if i need to take it back out and tare it apart and look at it or if its something fixable without taking it back out. i would appreciate any help thank you.....

You need to take it back to your builder.... To quote Mike L the P0777 is the "Heart Attach" code :(

Alto Power packs were not meant for the 6 speed trans as the clearances are wrong and have to be set with different size plates. This is what you get into when you supply the parts. Your vendor should not have sold you this kit unless he supplied you with the proper fit clutches.
P0777 is a tie up ( 2 gears at once ). This could be a bad speed sensor, or wiring, improper clutch clearance or damaged tone wheel on the front rotating assembly or transfer case. Tech 2 should help in diagnosing the problem if you know how to use it.
Good luck.

Mike if altos clearances are wrong from the get go shouldnt the builder have caught that before he installed it?... unless he never checked?

Also i forgot to add that it seems like it takes forever for the truck to go in to drive or revese and once it goes in it slams in, also it has some HARD downshifts but it doesnt do either of these all the time.... And by the way celab the truck ran great for the first couple passes i made before it started to limp if i didnt tell you that on the phone yesterday lol

The company is local they are pretty big the owner himself said he has built them before for commecial trucks and claims he has built proformance ones before.. he wants me to take it to him monday so he can scan it but the only way he can scan it is if its in limp mode otherwise i cant drive it and i dont even know if he has a tech 2

My point exactly. I don't like doing a stage 3 ( Alto power pac ) on a 6 speed because I have to have specialy machined plates to get the clearance that I want. A lot of trouble.
The ugly truth is most guys that do this themselves fail sooner or later. They wind up selling the truck. Lately I have been seeing a lot of 2nd owner trucks come into my shop with butchered Alli's. Blown torrington bearings, cracked cases, stripped bolt holes, wiped out pumps.
Your upgrade kits doesn't cover this kind of damage.
The Allison is easy; even a cave man can do it.:D

If you were west of the Rocky Mtn's you should go see Mike L., seeing as you were only a few hours from Big Dipper in MD it would have well been worth the road trip.

I know you probably don't want to hear it after the fact, but take it to a pro who has built a few hundred of these and get it done right the first time.

Good Luck
