Hi guys,
I'm trying to figure out a really bad problem, while driving the engine will throw MIL and fuel tank reading will go to empty, and then I will be in Limp mode, this has happened three times before today, and was simply able to get out of it by restarting my truck, today it seems very unstable and I can barely drive my truck without it turning into a tractor, I am getting codes P0202, p0203, p0205, p0208 and p2149. I have tried to wiggle the Cylinder#2 connector to see if it will throw the code but it doesn't seem to do anything. Seems the previous owner has put heater hose over the FICM. I'm thinking maybe injector 2 connector or something? Any suggestions would be great, I can't seem to duplicate the issue in my driveway, which is where it will be staying until i fix this.

Thank you for your time!

The Harness at the FICM or at the injector? I will probably tear into both, unless i see them. I played around with cyl 2 connector today, i took it off and put it back on, now it seems my problem is even worse, but if i jiggle the connector and or wire while its running it wont act up, it's very strange.

Search for "ice pick trick" . You may need to do that. Also, check the harness for any chaffing of the wires. Especially around the bracket at the alternator

I've had the codes before, ended up getting a new injector clips and it fixed my issue. I would pull the covering off the harness and check the wires out. It may be where they clamped them to the clips that hold the harness to the engine.

Make sure you mark the injectors so they get plugged back into the right ones, if you pull the harness apart

I thought of doing the ice pick trick, I cannot see any physical chaffing at the alternator, as it's already wraped in a thick heater hose. I would think if the pigtail was bad on cyl 2 that if i touched it it would go tractor mode no?

Well I took the FICM Harness appart tonight, and i don't see any rub through, I tried to push most of the harness connectors on the injectors, and it didn't do anything, while i was on the passenger side, I was moving a wire loom a few times, and it seems i trigger the rough idle it thew codes P0205 and P0208 with the P2149 code as well. I would go turn the engine off clear the codes, and restart the engine, the engine would run fine, and then I would try to repeat the error and nothing would happen! I'm clueless, I don't even know if the ice pick thing would work, should I try to ice pick #2?

Could be broken filiments within the wire sheathes themselves.
Did the additional heater hose wrapping add stress to the harness?
Any way, it sounds like you've got one heck of a wiring problem on your hands. Good luck.

I agree with the wiring headache, no it doesn't seem like it did the zip tie around it was not very tight and was nicely sitting in the hose, and not against the alt bracket. You can definately see where it was rubbing on the hose though. it started to idle weird about 4 times, while i was looking around, but could never replicate it, although when i was mucking around i would only get P0205 P0208 and P2149 instead of the whole thing P0202 203 205 208 2149

Well I ice picked #2, hopefully I went in deep enough, I also added some dielectric grease in the connect, I then drove it around town for about 20 minutes without a hiccup, althought i was able to drive 4 hours last time before it acted up again, I did find that #2 was previously repaired by the previous owner. I guess i will check back in and let you guys know if i still have the problem :( I wish there was a way to test this, without throwing a CEL on the highway.
