So here's what I got going on....long crank ( 10-30 seconds before start), every time I fill up the truck just plain won't start without help (tiny shot diesel starter fluid...NOT EITHER), lobe at idle, constantly popping the p0093 (large fuel leak) that bout sums it up. Here's what I want to do, keep in mind it's a stock engine with efi live and a built trans....New fpr, new cp3, lift pump possibly, new injectors that I'd like to go over with but not sure how much stocky could safely handle. Any advice or links to a dealer of some type that won't take the roof that's over my head or food from my kids tummies would greatly be appreciated.

You can check the FPR, might wanna do it before ya buy a new one

Lincoln Diesel Services/LDS for new/reman injectors and cp3

IMO
Possibly doesnt cut it, in regards to a lift pump
You need a lift pump with a dual-particulate/water filter

You might need to rebuild the fuel filter head assembly, if you got a lift pump you can run the feed direct to the quick disconnect at the drivers side of the engine and bypass or remove the factory filter, all together

As for links...
C'mon man, don't be lazy...

LDS is a forum vendor and can be found in the "candy store" section of the forum, right on the main page...everything else can be done with a quick search and bump of the thread for a "new question/aswer":cool2:

I'm not trying to be lazy, just new to the diesel world and don't want to end up bent over with no lube, that's all, and thanks for the tips.

Brent I definitely like your site and prices!!! I need to do a lot more leg work before I start buying parts though. But in about 6-7 weeks I'll be making some small purchases anyway ( leaving state for work) but before I start spending big money I need to find a local tuner to find out what I have on my dps5 so I can figure out what I can do for upgrades. A have a lot of leg work to do apparently.

I have no idea where I would even begin for what to get for a pump. I know I want a fass pump but I don't know the difference between 50ghp(may have the wrong letters if that gives you any idea) or 200ghp other than I'm guessing the 200 is pumping a lot more fuel. I'm new to the diesel world so I don't wanna break things on accident when it could have been avoided. Banana rods and cracked pistons are expensive on any engine but holy hell they're way more expensive on diesels haha.

Honestly, there have been a few new additions to the lift pump world and I wouldn't even know which one to tell you to look at anymore...I run an AD165, I've had it for several years and had no issues thusfar (knock on wood)

I think most guys run a 150 or 200 from Fass, but now there is the brushless design and AI believe aroemotive has a legit new pump design now too...

IMO, a Lift pump is a necessity for any duramax
Especially if you're going to go to the effort and cost of replacing the injection system components

I wasn't trying to be an ass, telling ya to search...this forum is chalk full of all the answers and knowledge you're looking for and if you're diligent about it, you won't wind up being over without lube :thumb:

Not a problem, don't rush with buying parts. Just let us know if you have questions and we would be more than glad to answer them for you.
