Im in need of a gate for my s480 and trying to figure out which one is best with out brakeing the bank.

Its set up like this currently. Which is how the JGS site has it set up for high boost controller.

I've got a turbonetics evolution gate that was used on my s475 with gated housing it's a regulater type setup...I'm not using it since I'm just running a single pump ATM if your interested I'd part with it...it's Danville perf. stuff

I run a Tial Gate on mine. I put the stiffest spring in it and also regulate the boost going into it.

What dose the spring do and how stiff is it? I’m just trying to under stand why I need a spring if I use a regulator. I have never used a gate before. to my understanding one line on the regulator keeps the gate closed until psi reaches your setting then the regulator switches circuits and opens the gate, or am I wrong?

The boost holds the plunger thing closed, it helps the spring. I just have a 12psi spring with my boost holding it shut until it reaches the amount of boost needed and then it opens.
