So there’s a local dealer of these near me. Pretty sweet little things. Looks just like a CJ7. 5 speed with a little diesel. 52hp at the wheels from the factory. They start at like 20k. Even have BFG ATs on them. Think they’re working on getting them street legal. Anyways. Just saw a Facebook ad that Calibrated Power (not sure if this is who gets all the sh!t from everyone or not) is making parts for these things. Dsp tunes, turbos, intercoolers, even offering Exergy fuel systems and a south end clutch from what I saw to push this thing over 200hp and 400 ft lbs. it’s cool to see new things being introduced and developed even out of the general road diesels.

They are copies of the old Willys wwII jeeps. Every car manufacturer in the country built them during the war, they will have a hard time stopping the production. Personally I'd rather have one of these than a side by side.

good for a farmer, thats about it. you can pick up a samurai for 1/8th of the price and have the same features minus the diesel but there are plenty of turbo kits and aftermarket support for them.

i just cant drop 20k on a fully leaf sprung vehicle as a toy. 20k gets you a pretty nice rzr or can am.

I agree the price point could be better. But if they’re ever able to be made street legal that would be a pretty big plus on the east coast trail systems. A lot of them like Uwharrie and Windrock have some main roads you have to take between trails. Really limits the amount of legal SxS riding you can do. I’m more enthused with a 200hp diesel in something that can’t weigh much with a 5 speed behind it.

you can street legal them here in az but its the same as doing that with a SxS. its not hard to do but we dont have the hardest laws either to do so.

Could you then bring it to CA and drive it here legally with AZ plates?
