So I have noticed that my truck is making a lot odd noises. I just had my cognito braces put on last week and my steering tightened up real good. But thats not the issue, I have noticed that the truck does a faint squeek when I take left turns, but its only at a certain spot in the steering? Another thing is that my truck makes the faint "whoomp" noise when slowing down. Not much of a suspension guy, whats going on?

hmmmm..... thats got me stumped. mine will make a squeak if im letting the clutch out while trying to turn at the same time, ive attributed it to the motor lugging and not spinning the pump fast enough since it doesnt do it when stopped completely or when the clutch is all the way out

Have you checked the front hubs? Mine would only make noise when backing up and turing the wheel. Both did the same thing. At a set angle during the turn, the both made the same type of noise when the hub went out.

Can't really help with the squeek, but the "whoomp" I may may have an idea.

What may be happening is as you slow down, the truck will be in 2nd idling, putting a slight forward load on the drivetrain. It will then shift into 1st, and the motor will be pulled slightly above idle, putting a reverse load on the drivetrain. If you have a little slop in the drivetrain, this could make a whoomp noise as the load shifts directions. Mine does this, but I can't hear a noise, I just feel a little motion as the slop comes out of my drivetrain.

Thanks for the help guys. Another thing that has me worried is that the truck made a God awful squeel when I had it in 4wd, I hardly ever put it in 4wd, not saying that pump rub has killed the transfer case because 4wd DID work, but I figured the transfer case wasnt "lubed" up good because it hasnt been engaged in so long. But this did make me want to do the pump rub kit a whole lot sooner
