Matt's truck hit me right in the middle of a mad rush of trucks, and being that I had never converted a truck from 2wd to 4wd, I kept coming up with parts I didn't think of needing, but I finally got it all together.

The trans was not in nearly as bad of shape as I thought it would be. It was built around 4 years ago when the Alto power packs were the best thing out there, and it was still a tune only truck so no major pressure mods other than the pressure shim and the Transgo lockup valve. The C3s were a little burnt, but not completely shot. I reused the C1, C4, and C5 clutch packs. For the C2 I used Raybestos GPZ clutches and Kolene steels. In the C3 I used an LML apply piston with the Sun Coast pinwheel style clutches. I also installed one of Mike's pressure springs with 1 shim and modded the lockup valve for no pressure drop. The valve body already had a TG jr kit in it, so the only thing I did to it was install a few springs Mike sent me to try out.

The transfer case Matt bought from Tom was in great shape. The only thing I did to it was install the pump rub kit he included. I'll say this, the UPS man knows how to package a transfer case!

Driveshafts for a 4wd CC/SB truck are surprisingly difficult to find in a wrecking yard, but between the wrecking yard and the driveshaft shop, we were able to put one together for him. I had to cut the carrier bearing mounting plate off the crossmember it is welded to so it wouldn't smash the driveshaft if it hit a big bump with a load.

Then the other thing I did was install a 5" exhaust because Matt's exhaust went from a 5" down pipe to a 4" exhaust back up to a 5" muffler. I thought he would like a full 5" exhaust, and I was right.

I can't wait to see your truck running down the track now that you can launch it, Matt.

Glad the Tcase was A-OK, Josh. I can stop holding the money from the transaction in my Paypal now. :roflmao:

BTW, who would I be if I didnt follow my own "pack it like it'll go thru a war" advice? :thumb:

Tom I learned about shipping from the t case you sent. It shifts smooth in and out of 4 hi,even at 50 mph. Did a boosted launch on a dry county road the other night. Tune 3, 2000 rpm, lock box on. She went, hit 60 # boost, which that tune usually hits around 52-55#. I had good co air,and I wasnt spinning. Trans shifts great, very smooth. But, redline raceway in caddo mills tx, that is oh 10 miles from me is closed, for good, and going to be a flea market.......im wiping up the puke off the floor as I type. So it will be next year before I can go to denton or paris tx and see what she can do.
