I know mikes a great guy, ill probably just order one from him. The time is an issue though as we still have a lot to get done to get ready for the first pull and my other vehicle just took a crap on me. Looses 2 gallons of coolant if you drive 20'.

I would love to send the PPE pedestal back but I think it will be fine. there is no way to modify it to make it straight it is all welded together. I wouldve bought yours but didnt have the funds. Kinda wishing I did though.

Dont wanna tear it apart but well see how much more trouble we have. If it proves to be too much maybe I will just send the whole kit back for a refund and get your pedestal and upipes. Maybe I can work something out with PPE where I can keep the oil lines as they are all I need.

im not bashing PPE either although their customer service never helped me at all, after getting sent in a cricle of who to talk to as i guess i "have to talk to the rep who deals with the company i bought it from" and once I got him (rick) i tried explaining the issue to him and i dont know if there was a miss communication or what but no matter how many times i called him re explaining myself he still never understood and kept saying the spacer would fix it and how every pedestal is identical and tested before it is sent out so it should be fine.

He even sent pictures of them to the guy I bought it from but neither showed the angle to show what we were looking at.

me taking the die grinder to it shouldnt be an issue as this pedestal is junk if i were to return it.

yes but it was a preproduction motor so all of the parts were off the shelf bosh parts. Much different. the fuel rails had everything listed on them such as the flow and such.

Tim said replace the bolts, I talked to the local dealership duramax tech and he said do the seals so i did them.

the seals need to be replaced everytime. also, its the return line itself that usually is screwed up causing problems, not the bolts necessarily.

okay well I have the disptick tube coming from mike. Time isnt a big deal now. Just found out my shutoff just shipped out today so we cant build the intake until that gets here.

For the downpipe issues it looks like I may just need to adjust its position. If that doesnt work Ill end up removing it and putting a little dent in it to make some room.

I thought I said to replace the Banjo gaskets, not the bolts, but it depends on what time I talked to you....:D

Well were getting there slowly. Not even a week left anymore.

Found out some more info on the pull too. Starts at 6PM on the 12th. Pro street is one of the first classes. They are running two tracks, two sleds. One is the smoker sled the other is non smoking:D. Both tracks are a full 300' and then some. There is room for over 200 pulling vehicles inside the building. Its a big place, its the Crossroads USA horse arena. just under 200,000 square feet. Total purse is $108,000. Pro Street purse is $2,000(top ten), and $1650 for the finals(top 3 or 5 cant remember). Currently there are 13 trucks in my class, pro street 2.8 turbo. One is a Ford, me and wesley are the Dmaxes and the rest are Cummins.

A breif update of whats left to do.

The Driveshaft loops are done but need to be mounted and painted

Weight bracket needs paint too

I need to build a different set of adjustable suspension stops.

Need to build my new traction bars (olds ones flexed)

Need to build receiver, pulling hitch and bump stops.

The intake is mostly done, it is at the neighbors place now. he runs a small metal fab shop that does a lot of TIG and CNC work. hes making a bung for the MAF and welding it onto the pipe and everything so I dont have to dink with it. Tomorrow when I pick it up I will finish the welds and grind them smooth then paint it. I Still need to run the cable to the E.D. shutoff too. We did have to dent the pipe to clear the coolant pipe which I decided to weld shut as I didnt have a plug easily acessible. The missing piece of the intake is the 4-5" adapter I just ordered today. had issues finding one.

I need to remove my downpipe once again to stick the heat sheild insulation to the firewall, and also need to wrap the A/C line.

The Banks hot side pipe is in the mail. The Place where I bough the turbo from has some nice flanges they have machined for them, it clamps to a 3.5" v band clamp but is set up to weld a 3" pipe to it, so I think this will work out slick.

I guess UPS lost my dipstick tube, so mike sent me another one while UPS is still trying to find the other one. Thanks mike.

A guy up at work is doing the e-locker install for me, however he found more worn out parts than we expected so it kinda turned into a full rebuild and hes waiting on parts.

I still need to install me fuel door:D

Stack needs paint

And I need to change my oil.

Heres some random pics.

well we have 4 days left. and still have enough left to do.

Tomorrow niight should be a long one. Im expecting my dipstick tube, banks IC tube and vibrant 4-5" adapter for the intake.

My differential will be done tomorrow as well so well get that thrown in and the wiring done and run into the cab but most likely for now the switch will just be sitting on the console not mounted for times sake.

We have a few things to tweak on the loops.

A couple hours worth of work left on the hitch as well.

For my intake I have to finish the weld joining the two elbows but want to wait till the adapter comes in to make sure everything fits right. For the MAF sensor I took it to my neighbor and he wrote a CNC program to cut it out, drill and tap the two holes and then on the underside it formed it do it would fit snug on a 4" pipe. Then he TIG welded it on and cleaned it up. Really nice looking piece. Dont wanna see my bill on it. I also spent a few hours yesterday with the diegrinder smoothing things out when I was done welding the shutoff flanges on so that the butterly could open and close without hitting the pipe.

I also need to go pick up a PTO cable for a dump truck to yse as my air shutoff cable.

We Wrapped the A/C lines and the firewall yesterday so thats good to go.

For the traction bars I may end up running my old ones. they didnt have a schedule 80 pipe at work, but ill talk to my uncle tomorrow to see if they have some at his work.

Were getting there, but its gonna be a lot of late nights this week. Were going down no matter what

Its crunch time now. We have a lot of work to do.
UPS guy didnt show up with the parts like I had hoped. Im waiting on my intake adapter, banks pipe, and dipstick tube.

And my front diff wasnt done like I had hoped.

But we stayed busy all afternoon. Got the hitch done and some other little things.

Whats left is finishing my driveshaft loops, finsihing the intake. Installing the Banks tube Installing the front diff, replacing the gasket on the cover on the rear housing. And running the cable for the air shutoff.

were getting there, tomorrow night will be longer and were hoping to get out and drive it around to make sure that it does indeed move. Once we find no more further issues it will be a relief.

Heres some pics.
