Not sure if you guys are bike enthusiasts? But i just got a 1969 BSA lightning 650 ( A65 ) it has 1262 original miles.

My dad was the original owner and decided to get rid of it......So i scoooped it up:D

I dont imagine that most of you guys care for old bikes, but i love them!
And this particular bike is rare.

Switching back and forth from the Harley to the BSA will be interesting every time you go to brake. Been there and done that. :roflmao:

I love old bikes and cars too but the bikes take up less room. That is a beauty Simon! If you need anything try my uncles shop in Van, British Italian Motorcycles. I'm going to send him a copy of the pic.

Beautiful bike. That one's about as nice as they come. Most people hardly even know what those things are anymore. Got my first bike in '66, a Tri. Bonneville and still have it. One thing.....owning a British bike means working on it, there's no getting around that.

That things sweet!:thumb: When was the last time it was ridden/started? My dad has a 75 kawasaki 900 that he bought new, someday I hope I will have the chance to buy it from him. It hasn't been moved since I bought my first bike in 2002

Pretty cool. :thumb:

Sorta a side thought... I don't really understand how things like this come to be. I'm talking in general about old things being kept undriven for decades. Who decides to buy something and keep it as new and not drive it but plan on keeping it for years and years just to have? Do people really do it in hopes of it's value going up 20+ years later or just happens or just frugal or what? Just never understood. this.

And since people did it with things that are now 30 years old or whatever, I wonder if they're doing it now with vehicles today? I meant, in 2050 are we going to see someone post up about a 2011 Camry or Harley or GMC 2500HD dmax denali or was this an era-specific way of thinking that lead to these kinds of old relics (i.e. depression, etc.)??

Just curious as I've never really understood buying something new just to "collect" it. It has likely paid off for a few folks over the years though I suppose if you don't count opportunity costs into it which isn't realistic but oh well. I'm just rambling on now so I'll stop.
