So I got this kit used and haven't had a chance to do much testing yet because my oil drain gasket decided to blow out so out comes the pedestal again to put a new gasket on. I'm sure you all will call me crazy but I'm still on stock trans :) converter HATES me...
s464, 40overs are the most significant mods ive done lol

Now, I'm not totally positive, but I can't think of why this wouldn't work...

I'm pretty sure you can use a female torx bit to remove the studs that the oil drain tube flange slide over, then just remove and replace the gasket, w/out having to remove the pedestal, the drain tube has enough flex in it to get under the flange. Although cleaning the surface may present a slight challenge, it would be less intrusive than removing the turbo, pedestal and everything else....

I would think it would be worth the try...

Good luck

Looks sweet BTW:thumb:

Good luck with the bottom end:eek:

That would work, but like you said I need to clean the mess up down there anyway so might as well pull it :(

Its going to suck when your convertor does let go. Sends all that crap into your trans and cooler. Well worth it.

So I ended up only taking one stud out because I couldn't get to the other (driver side) one. Finally got it out (without removing the entire turbo...)

All clean :)

Small update, truck runs good "when" the turbo lights.. Need a retune but my ECM was locked by Rob.. Anyone know if a tech 2 will/can unlock it? ( no I don't want the tunes unlocked, just the ECM so I can get some different tunes in there)

Update, turned the tunes up from "75" to "125" and the turbo lights much much faster! Half tempted to click the dsp switch one more time and see if I can find that sweet spot ;)

So I did my first street run after "fixing" the downpipe...

Was able to build boost but, by my standards, the egts were WAY high!
Does it seem high to anyone else? I have the video but it won't upload.
