This shop has machines that can cut 450" x 184" x 120" sized parts.

PS: posting pics from the iPhone sucks ass.

Looks like a locomotive engine. Thats a neat job for sure!!!

Some but not all

A job?? What is a job?:joker:

j/k looks like big cool stuff to deal with:thumb:

Ya it's funny people keep telling me there are no jobs in Windsor but in the 2 years I have been back here I have had 3 I only moved for more $$$ and better work. I think I will be at this shop for a long time.

Is that Wades secrete aluminum 20cyl. Billet Block, made from unobtanium? Looks like fun!

lol I am not sure if we could fit one in an S-10 as it is the size of one!

The big 20 cyl. block is a EMD (Electro-Motive Diesel) and we make them in V8, V12, V16, and V20 or at least that is what I have seen in the shop. They are used in a lot of thing from boats, subs, locomotives, Caterpillar, Terex, ect. Each cyl. is 710ci and the V20 puts out 5,000HP and a max RPM of 900.

The inline 8 one is a GE block

The last one is a Machine Base for something cant remember.

I use to have a pair of the v12s tandem mounted to a 4 Megawatt generator at my old job. Those jokers are loud compared to a 4 stroke diesel

I love big machine shop equipment. Those are castings and not billets, right? I saw in a magazine from a shop that makes some kind of oil rig caps that they have 1,000,000lb's of scrap a month, thats some serious machining. Congrats on the job:thumb:

Some cast like the GE blocks. But the EMD ones are welded steel we cut the air-box then they weld the rest on then we cut the rest. We ship about 2-3 of the v16 EMD blocks a day since I started at the shop. The other sized ones change all the time. We cut just about anything big. They have even cut tanks, the whole full tank with tracks and all put in the pit and machine the gun turret base plate. Right now we just got in some huge armored chassis from some welding shop.
