Was that directed at me? If so its because the aftermarket projectors were total junk. Worse than stock by far.

Yeah I was talking to you!

I figured it wasn't the projector housing that was causing the issue. To me, IMO, it seems to be poor quality ballast and bulbs. Have you tried using the original housing first with the morimoto them try switching over to the mini housing to see the difference? I have the same Spyder headlight as yours. My lens are all scratched up and the halo lights are faded out after 2 years. Hid ballast are burnt out now, doesn't produce the light output as it used to.

Too bad there isn't any other manufacturer that makes quality head lights.

Yes i did. And it did help but still didn't near cut it. The difference in light output would blow your mind, i forgot to do a before picture unfortunately.....

Im not doubting you at all im just ignorant to this whole projector retrofit. Is it more difficult because there currently isnt a projector mounted in the stock housing? I have been in to HID's for a long time and im super interested in projectors.
Precisely! You have to cut and and glue and mess around to mount them in. This way you do a little cutting and the retroquick bracket allows you to bolt the new projectors right in where the old ones were.

Ben may chime in on this but if I remember correctly the projector housings that come in those aftermarket housings originally are NOT meant for HID bulbs either. The reflector is matched to a halogen bulb.

here is a light output shot with my fxr projectors. A spyder or oem projector cannot compete. It's a pain to do, but well worth the time and money. I will be taking the oem projector out of my truck and replacing it with a set from theretrofitsource soon.

Ah thanks. Now I know it's confirmed that just replacing with a better set of hid will not correct the issue. :thumb:
