Well for those who dont know, I am hooking at the Hoosier Invitational in Cloverdale Indiana on March 12th.

It is an indoor pull so I have to have a special stack that feeds into their exhaust system.

The rules state it must be 10' from the ground to the center of the pipe. It must terminate directly above the hitch and have a brace 36" from the end.

Well we started it this morning and between working on it and other projects we got it done tonite.

All I can say is that its ugly but at the same time kinda cool looking.

As you all know, single stacks are offset. so In order to make this stack I had to move the center of it over 14".

Here is how I built it.

I started with 20' of 5" pipe, and 2 45* 5" OD/OD short sweep, short leg elbows. Ran me about 300 bucks from NAPA.

I attached a 4' section to my existing stack location, then tacked one of the elbows to that section, off of that elbow I added a 2, 4" piece and spun the stack so that it would move the center over. From there I added my other 45* elbow which then redirects the stack so that it is parallel to the ground and runs straight down the center of the truck 10' in the air.

we actually built it in 2 sections starting with the original stack location piece with the elbow and two pipes attached. The other section was the long parrallel piece with the other elbow tacked on.

With 3 guys holding it and 2 people eyeballing it I marked where we needed to trim it. Then with the 3 guys holding it and 2 guys eyeballing I tacked it in place and it actually turned out nice.

The brace is an A frame that uses existing holes in my bed.

Heres some pics from my phone

Once I get the welds burnt in were going on a test drive with it. I still need a 5" clamp to clamp it to the a frame.

Once we know it works good and doesnt leak Ill grind the welds down and paint it black.

Maybe I should get a video.

i think im gonna drive into school with it once we get it tore down after the pull. Ill leave it on for a day or two then take it off, it will be easy to find my truck in the parking lot a half mile away though.

sounds about the same outside, but in the cab its nice and quiet. the smoke comes out a little different though.

I should of got a video when we started it and revved it, since it was only tacked there was smoke coming out of every seam.

hey now be nice, we spent a lot of time making sure everything fit tightly and looked squarish using our calibrated eyballs.

Honestly it comes down to eyballing when your building one of these. I started off measureing and doing geometry and ended up just wasting an hour of my time.

Don't get me wrong, it looks like you guys did a really good job on it. I didn't mean to sound insulting. I just think it looks a little odd and out of place. Maybe if it was chrome :D

didnt take it as an insult

itll be gloss black, easier and less time consuming than polishing it.

I know they look goofy but ya gotta have one

You do what you gotta do, right? Good luck at the pull.

Watch out for any low-hanging tree limbs.

Definitely look forward to any video of the pull itself. Ive never been to an indoor pull, so Id like to see how that setup is supposed to operate.

We drove around town for awhile today. Realized we forgot to burn in the welds for the tripod brace and it fell apart as it broke the tacks, lukily my uncles farm was a mile away so my buddy held the stack in the bed while I drove there.

here a video.

That looks sweet. You should leave it on all the time. I was going to say parking garages might be a bit of a problem but I have a feeling you are not in parking garages all that often;)

That'll work! Thanks for the vid of the pull, I get it now. You actually tow an exhaust vacuum attached to the sled? Pretty ingenious.

All you need now is a long snorkel, and you could ford rivers.
