So this has taken me two weeks. Last week was a bust because I was sick in bed with the flu for 5 days :( but I am back at it and have the heads to the machine shop. Everything else looks good, it is time to start cleaning all the parts so I can put it all back together!

So was it obvious where it was leaking? Looks kinda cruddy in the usual spot at the rear there. How hard was it to get the head off this way with just the front clip off?

Leaking in the bottom rear corner of the right head ? Lose much coolant? I think mine's all leaking out, all of the 1 qt I may have lost.
this is how i plannin on doin mine in a couple weekends.

When you pulled the head, did you see any sign of piston erosion on the cylinder that was leaking???

I leave the engine in, fenders on. Just take the tires off and set it on the ground. My sidekick and I can have the heads on the ground in just under 5 hours. We've done a "couple" ;)

The pistons look good! the heads were perfect! The only time I lost coolant was when it was full it would blow it out the overflow, so I just ran it with just enough coolant in the tank that I could see it! It was not too bad doing it this way! The only area was the drivers side head was a little tight getting my fat fingers in there. but it is doable! You just have to ziptie the lower rear stud in the hole before you put the head on!

Henry It showed up today! I have to clean it off now I have been drooling all over it today! :D
