seems like a waste to run fuel through it. Ive seen fuel temps of 160+ degrees during the summer. Plus all the heat it collects from being on the valve cover on a 200+ degree motor. I really dont think it will see no where near that much heat on the fender well without fuel going through it. Im going to keep on eye on it and see.
if you go to where the wire enters the harness it is not shielded. Its just a single blue wire. Where i cut it and it was shielded all it was was the blue wire, a bare ground wire, and foil around both of them. I just made my own extention with a piece of regular wire and a bare ground then i shrink wrapped them all together. i think it will work just fine considering its not shielded the whole way. i guess i will find out when i get it running.
What did you do about the fuel lines doing this mod? I'm trying relocate mine also because of the banjo fittings are always leaking. I had thought about disconnecting the 1/2 inch line on the drivers side. It has a quick disconnect fitting there but I was wondering if they make a barb that will hook up there so I can go ahead and run it to my fuel filter. How did you do yours?
I'm trying to do something similar, I'm having a helluva time finding fittings for 1/2 inch fuel line to do this clean. I need a 1/2 inch hose barb that will connect to GM quick connect. Seems like no one makes it. They have it for 3/8 and smaller but no 1/2 inch.

I relocated mine and had no problems putting the 1/2 line to the old banjo fittings and not leaks at all,I ean 1/2 to a fuel block i bought from Jegs which has 2 3/8ths out 1 line going to each cp3 and i installed a 0 to 30 psi water filled gauge1/8 in the top of the fuel block,made for a nice set up.
I also found out about the sheilded wire the hard way as it was sending my refrance signal to ground and i had a no start.
