So here's the deal, a few months back I bought a 2003 RC/LB 2wd form another member that I intend on using as my DD. It ran but needed head gaskets. I actually helped him diagnose it on the forum and ended up buying from him. So fast forward to now and my idea of "replacing head gaskets" has turned into a bit more:) I had the truck shipped down to my best friend in Austin Tx, he's a master Mercedes Benz mechanic and I don't have space to work on the truck at my house right now. I ended up buying a fully built motor from another member on here who wasn't having any luck selling his truck with the motor in it. Andrew is shipping out a loaded transmission from Suncoast and the rest will hopefully be history. Here are some pics from this weekend, if he has time it may be finished before Thanksgiving.

Fingers pistons, Carrillo rods, main girdle, Socal damper and flexplate, Custom Socal cam, stock port heads with Socal springs, billet hold downs, pushrods, and ARP holding everything. It also has 100 over Exergy's in it as well. Tuesday I'll have a full S400 kit from HSP and I'm going to run a FI Billet S468. I ended up getting a BD intercooler and new radiator as well.

Wow, they let you work on that American garbage in their sophisticated high class shop? Figured that shop would've been to good for one of our trucks to sit in.

Update.

So it's moving along pretty well, but we have ran into a few problems. Quality seems to be lacking in a few areas. The HSP kit has a few issues, the holes in the oil drain fitting where simply too small and had to be drilled out and if you look closely in one of the pictures you can see where the up pipe bolts to the pedestal the threaded section of the pedestal is to close to the wall and the ARP bolt had to eat it's way in. Also my buddy had to space the PPE dual fueler up because it literally sat on top of the power steering cap. Trying to decide next where on earth to fit the lift pump in under the truck. This regular cab has zero space on the inside of the frame. I might be going to coilovers early to eliminate the torsion bar crossmember to make some space. Enjoy the photos.

Thanks for all the pics, it looks like it'll be a blast.

Any plans of making it a shortbed?

The short answer is maybe. It was my original plan to convert it but now I'm thinking of doing a dually bed and running custom 20x15 with some Mickey Thompson 31x18 Sportsman S/R Radials.
