He was headed South on Hwy. 99, about 65mph when a truck tried to cross right in front of him. The truck was a Chevy 1500 regular cab. The guy went to the hospital with multiple broken ribs and a broken nose. He worked for Glen/Colusa Irrigation District, the irrigation district that we use for our rice fields. Talking about having them over a barrel. My dad was alright, he refused treatment. A little sore from the airbag, because he didn't have his seatbelt on. This is one of the reasons why I will never drive anything else.

wow!! so basically a head-on at 65mph??

glad to hear your dad is ok, thats the most important thing, the truck can always be replaced. Was the other guy wearing his seatbelt? any other pics of the other truck? Did the onstar work in your dads truck?

I think its flat out incredible how safe these trucks are. How many other vehicles can you crash head on into another vehicle at 55+ mph and literally walk away unharmed...

Yeah he is alright. He must have been gripping the steering wheel pretty tight, because when I went to clean the truck out, it was loose and just kinda hanging there. The front left axle was about 50 yards down the road and the front left wheel we could never find. It must have flown into the canal ahead of him. Thats my dad in the last pic about 15 mins. after the accident.

The other guy didn't have his seatbelt on either, he is out of the hospital and doing fine. Not sure about the ONstar

Makes you wonder about those idiots who drive those smart cars. You know that ones that you could drive up in the bed of a shortbed truck. Theres no way someone could survive a crash like that in one of those with a truck of our size.

A guy at the yard bought one of those. He said it get's 35+ MPG. I told him he coud have got the diesel one that get's 80+MPG. I got the deer in a headlight look.

There's no way I would drive something like that. It's like driving your own coffin.
