I think he got an lbz shortblock after the duramaxtuner rods issue. "Think"... key word there.... Not %100 sure on that
correct Wes, thank you.
As a recap for those who have been completely in the dark, and/or who are just being a smartass for the hell of it.
I built a motor with DURAMAX TUNER/VORTECFCAR's rods. They were/are pieces of shit. They failed after 15,000 miles of a power level that stock LB7/LLY rods held fine. The best NICK could do for me was refund my purchase price on the rods, because "they are an aftermarket product with no implied warranty". Also that he had no money to pay me back because he was eating the cost in all these failures. (let me get my violin) I told him no, Ill give him some time to get money together and he can pay me back a legit amount later. That was almost 2 years ago. He has since REBUILT his own motor with REAL rods/performance parts, put several different turbos on, etc........ So he seems to have made some money back. I will be calling him this summer............
My truck was down for months because I didnt have enough money to put my truck back together. I dont have a second vehicle or anything, walking places sucks when its -20* outside up at school. Finally I had enough saved up to buy a new/used LBZ shortblock from guy who was great in helping me out. (thanks Guy! :thumb: ) I didnt have any money or time to tear it down and put new/good parts in it, so I now have a stock LBZ short block with LLY heads in my truck and it will probably stay like that for a long time unless someone comes through with a brilliant offer for parts to rebuild my motor to what it should have been the first time around.
So now you know, do I need to make that a sticky?
Besides, whats wrong with LBZ pistons simon? The LBZ's are more hp stock so I thought they would be better???
