Getting the engine out is fairly easy. Pull the grill, passenger battery, battery tray, air intake and lower air intake support, remove the upper core support bar and remove the cooling package as a whole. You can leave the bumper and the rest of the front in place. Pull the starter to get to the converter bolts and then get all the tranny mount bolts out. When hooking the engine for removal hook it so the rear of the engine will be about 2-3 inches higher than the front, I know it sounds wrong but trust me this will aid in getting the lower pan over the front differential and it will come right out. hopefully the engine will still turn. When I blew a rod out the side of my built motor it also twisted several other rods in the motor and it wouldnt turn over (so you cant separate it from the torque converter)...THAT was a fun job.
